Somewhere Over the Rainbow

(One of my top 10 favorites - ever)

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high
There's a land that I've heard of once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream,
Really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops,
Way above the chimney tops,
That's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow, blue birds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?

Somewhere over the rainbow, blue birds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?

Slipping Through My Fingers

Song lyric:

Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture
And save it from the funny tricks of time
Slipping through my fingers

At Last

Song lyrics:

This is one of the songs I heard this week that I was grateful to hear.  I think I like this version even better than the Etta James version.

I know this is a man-woman, romance song, but for me, it always applied to my babies, too.  After nine months,  "my love has come along" meant to me that finally, I could hold and love that baby, press my cheek on his - and when he smiled, I was in heaven.

At Last by Raul Malo

At last my love has come along
My lonely days are over and life is like a song, oh yeah

At last the skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clover the night I looked at you

I found a dream that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own

I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known

You smiled, you smiled and then the spell was cast
And here we are in Heaven
For you are mine at last

"Indescribable"

Song lyrics:

Listening to Pandora today and the imagery in this just struck me.  Humbling.

"You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God"
