"On Saturdays we Football" is the way Crystal describes their family's Saturdays - and today is Saturday.
At today's football game, I got to spend more time than usual with Mason. His buddies weren't there today, so he was content to sit on my lap, play with my phone, and talk. He's usually much too busy with his friends to 'sit'.
"I wish I lived closer to you, Mason," I said, wrapping my arms around him while he sat on my lap and played games on my phone.
"I wish you did, too, Grammy," said Mason, putting the phone down. "You'd come and see me and read me Elephant and Piggy books."
I laughed. "You bet! We had fun the last time we read books."
Mason nodded, agreeing that we did. "You would sit next to me and hold me and read with me, wouldn't you?"
"I would love that, Mason," I smiled (with tears in my eyes).
I wish I lived closer.
